5th Letchworth Scouts is a thriving Scout Group located on Spring Road, Letchworth Garden City. We have a Beaver Colony for children between the ages of 6 and 8; a Cub Pack for the 8 to 10 1/2 year olds; and a Scout Troop for the older ones up to the age of 14 1/2.
We meet at our own headquarters building at 35 Spring Road, SG6 3SH during school term times.
Beavers meet on Wednesdays between 17:30 – 18:30
Cubs meet on Tuesdays between 18:30 – 20.00
Scouts meet on Wednesdays between 19:00 – 21:00
See the relevant section page for more details.
Scouting is a uniformed organisation: we expect all our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to wear the appropriate uniform at meetings and whenever we go anywhere. We also charge membership fees on a termly basis. We do our best to keep these as low as possible, but we get no external funding and have to be self-sufficient.
That said, we need to emphasise that we will never turn somebody away because they can’t afford to pay for scouting. If you would find the cost of your child / children coming to scouts a challenge, then talk to one of the leaders who can explain how we may provide financial assistance for membership fees, uniform, camps etc.
Please note that our hall is for hire to community groups and for children’s parties. Please see the Get in touch! page for contact details.
