Last Saturday, 9th November 2013, our District held its biennial Arts & Crafts Exhibition. Unlike previous competitions, this one was held in a spare shop unit in Letchworth Town Centre so that it could also act as a promotional opportunity for Scouts.
5th entered in the Cub Section and the Scout Section.
The photos show the two entries: Cubs had a really imaginative reconstruction of a camp fire, whilst Scouts extolled the use of social media by combining a physical #5thLetchworth “hashtag” with a large Monitor showing a twitter feed of all #5thLetchworth tweets.
I’m please to say that the Cub entry was awarded 3rd place and the Scout entry was awarded 1st place. In addition, the Scout entry was awarded “Best in Show”.
I was also pleased to see many of our Scouts and Cubs visit the shop throughout the day. Ruby even brought her saxophone so that she could raise some funds for those going to the World Scout Jamboree in Japan in 2015.
